Begin in Inverness, the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands, and perhaps take an excursion to nearby Loch Ness. Then drive up the peaceful, remote Eastern coast, staying in the picturesque town of Brora, before reaching Wick, well located for exploring the nearby dramatic coastline.

Then drive the spectacular road winding through the west coast's lochs and mountains, stopping in Tongue, Lochinver and Gairloch to discover the Highland's warm hospitality.

Finally, head inland, twisting through the Highlands to reach Inverness once more.
